US vetoes UN resolution urging end to Israeli attacks in Gaza

Well, the UN has stepped up to the plate in their usual way. The Security Council is still working on a resolution in response to North Korea's missile launches last week, but they manage to draft and put up for a vote a resolution condeming the Israelis for defending themselves?!

And this resolution says nothing about the Israeli soldiers that have been kidnapped. Nothing about the rocket launches into northern Israel that have been going on since before that kidnapped Israeli soldier. Nothing about the murder of a kidnapped Israeli civilian.

The good news is that the US used its veto on the resolution (the first time since October 2004). But once again the UN manages to prove just useful they are.
