Press Watch:Countdown to Couric Disaster

Here's another of what will be commonly used post types, "Press Watch". This is where I will go to really let the media have it. I don't care if they're liberal, conservative, or "fair and balanced". Heck, you could even be a part of the blogosphere, you're still fair game as far as I'm concerned.

Is anyone here as sick of this Katie Couric crap as I am? Evidently CBS is now stepping up their advertising campaign in anticipation of her September kick off as the new CBS Evening News anchor. CBS is calling it "Countdown to Couric". The media already has their own god complex and they're putting Couric up as the goddess of the media gods.

Here's the link to the New York Post article.

I'm going to make my first prediction on here on EoE. CBS is calling this the "Countdown to Couric" like she is going to be the savior of network news' diminished ratings. She has no real background as a serious reporter. Her background is in telling us what diet to use or to advertise the latest trendy product. She is far from the caliber of past anchors (I'm going to be bipartisan here) such as Tom Brokaw, Peter Jennings, and yes even Dan Rather. So here's my prediction, she's going to bring her brand of morning talk show journalism to the evening news. This brand of journalism is never taken seriously which will be an even bigger disaster for the CBS Evening News than Dan Rather's "Memo Gate". Even less people will watch CBS Evening News, and this trend will spill over to the other two network evening news programs NBC and ABC.

So CBS will have their "Countdown to Couric". I will have the "Countdown to Couric Disaster".

She isn't a "serious journalist" anyway. I will laugh my white, hairy bum off when she fails.
